Sneak Peek | Las Vegas Child Photographer

March 30th, 2010

The results of my sibling portrait session giveaway. I am fortunate enough to know this family pretty well. I know both girls very well, and it was fun to get to know the boys better. I adore these kids! A photographer knows the session’s over when they shove a lollipop into your lens.  Love this photo. [...]

I ♥ faces

March 28th, 2010

The theme this week at I heart faces is dramatic or moody black & white. I chose this one, because it’s interesting. Hopefully not just to me. I like all the different textures and the framing of her face in the mirror. But I’m most interested in the way she’s looking at herself… Plus, I [...]

My baby | Las Vegas Photography

March 23rd, 2010

4 years old. Bittersweet, since she’s my baby. As you can see, she’s not a “look at the camera and smile” type of kid. Which is fine, because I wanted to capture who she is, not her “say cheese” smile that uses just to please me. I was a little worried about the beach shots. [...]

Which is fine, because I wanted to capture who she is, not her “say cheese” smile that uses just to please me. I was a little worried about the beach shots. Middle of the day with the California sun…lighting nightmare – but this was really the only time we could do it. It was hazy but not cloudy, which created a beautiful soft light. My little E. Want to know about her? She smiles with her eyes. She asks me everyday “where are we going after nap?” (translation: “where are we going tomorrow?”) She loves to sing and dance. She is feisty, opinionated, sweet, bossy, and tender-hearted. Sometimes all at once. Oh, how I love her.

I took this photo for my daughter’s 4 year portraits. I think it’s my favorite so far. I just loved the lines and the angles. When I first saw it in the viewfinder I thought, “hmm, I heart faces should do an angles theme! This would be perfect!” I kid you not, this is a true story! We came back from vacation tonight and low and behold, the theme this week is “Focusing on Angles”. Come on over and see the entries or enter one yourself!
