I took my best girl out today for some photos. It had been a while since I had taken decent photos of her. I could photograph her every day. She’s so fun and has sweet, natural expressions. Plus, she’s so beautiful, I just love to look at her. I’m so lucky to be her mom. I love her hair in this photo, and is it just me? I think the braces are super cute.

Wake up, get kids ready for school, facebook, blog, laundry, shower, shopping/errands/preschool, facebook, laundry, kitchen, laundry, last night’s show on tivo, laundry, laundry, laundry….lather rinse repeat…

I get bored. Not because there’s nothing to do, but because I’m tired of doing the same things over and over….

::  Dear children:

Is it so hard to take your underwear OUT of your pants before throwing them in the laundry room? Do you think I LIKE wrestling your used underwear out of your pants? Not fun for me.

Love,

Your adoring mother  ::

So I dropped my daily schedule for a while and took some photos of the two little girls that hang around me all day.

4 years old. Bittersweet, since she’s my baby. As you can see, she’s not a “look at the camera and smile” type of kid. Which is fine, because I wanted to capture who she is, not her “say cheese” smile that uses just to please me. I was a little worried about the beach shots. Middle of the day with the California sun…lighting nightmare – but this was really the only time we could do it. It was hazy but not cloudy, which created a beautiful soft light. My little E. Want to know about her? She smiles with her eyes. She asks me everyday “where are we going after nap?” (translation: “where are we going tomorrow?”) She loves to sing and dance. She is feisty, opinionated, sweet, bossy, and tender-hearted. Sometimes all at once. Oh, how I love her.

2009 – Our Year in Photos

January 8, 2010

In making this video, I am reminded how lucky I am. How fortunate. No, how blessed. Yes, I am blessed. I don’t know why, because I don’t feel like I deserve it. It makes me want to work harder to deserve these gifts.
