Another beautiful Op Love family! And I got to witness a very sweet tender moment, when this little baby parked herself on her daddy’s shoulder and stayed there…even though the last time he held her was when she was just a few weeks old…

A very sweet Operation Love ReUnited session. These military families are very dear to me. I will remember every single military family I’ve photographed for a long, long time. Plus, we got to shoot at one of my favorite locations since this was not a commercial shoot. :)

Operation Love Reunited

April 21, 2010

Have I told you how much I love Operation Love Reunited? I love to photograph these beautiful families. And who says you can’t shoot in the middle of the day? Um, hello beautiful light and color!

Ok, stop. Sit down. Are you sitting? Because your insides are going to turn into butter when you see this next one… ready?  Ok…

I had the privilege to photograph a hero and his family last weekend. They chose a beautiful location (check out the light!!!), their baby was calm and content, and we were able to get some really lovely portraits! Come home safe D!

Scroll down to see where he gets these eyes….

This, my friends, is called Natural Beauty.

There’s something about our troops. They really are the good guys. “Good” doesn’t seem to really catch it though. I’ve thought a lot about this since these two Operation Love Reunited sessions. They’re more than just the good guys. So here’s what I think; they have developed a moral intelligence to know what to do, and were blessed with the physical power to do it.

It was cold and wintry when we took these photos. Look at their faces. Can you tell?? They could be on an iceberg in the middle of snowstorm and their faces would still look like this. They have their Dad back, even if it’s just for a little while until he has to leave again. They have their Daddy!

I had a chance to talk to this warrior about his job over there. He said it was pretty dull. I think dull is pretty awesome – dull means you get to come home.

Oh, my heart. My heart can’t take it!
