Babies make me happy. Now that my youngest is 3 years old, nearly 4, I miss babies terribly. There’s just something magical about babies – especially newborns. I love their new-ness, their folds of skin, how they fold up so easily. I love how they are each beautiful in their own way.

Giveaway #2 – My Favorite Things

One of my favorite things to do is read. I will never forget my “first” book. I was in my early teens. I had never read for pleasure – only enough to get by. When we were required to read a book for school, I would skim my way through and use Cliffnotes for the details. Once, we had to pick a book from a list. My wise mother, an avid reader, suggested I choose “To Kill a Mockingbird”. I’m not exaggerating when I say that this book changed my life. I could not stop reading – I wanted to stay and live in that world. After finishing, I couldn’t imagine that any other book would be as good. But I now realized the power of the written word. It was like stepping into a new world.

To share my love of books, giveaway #2 will be a $40 Amazon gift card!

To enter, just comment either on my blog or on my facebook fan page and tell me what you love to read, or your favorite book and why, or your own “first” book, etc.  I’ll start. Some of my favorites include; Atlas Shrugged, Man’s Search for Meaning, Jane Eyre, Ender’s Game, To Say Nothing of the Dog, and The Road.
