I was so glad to pull Emily’s name out as the second winner of the family portrait session. I just loved her adoption story. It was lovely to see Emily & Garrett just pour all their love on this little girl. Isn’t she beautiful?

Babies make me happy. Now that my youngest is 3 years old, nearly 4, I miss babies terribly. There’s just something magical about babies – especially newborns. I love their new-ness, their folds of skin, how they fold up so easily. I love how they are each beautiful in their own way.

The only thing better than my beautiful clients are my beautiful clients that come back. This family was the winner of my silent auction for Stephanie Nielson in 2008. Seeing them again, with this new little beauty just made my day. Check out how she has her hand splayed out in the second portrait. Her mom told me that’s her thing – she does it all the time. How sweet is that? I love that she already has a little personality.
